Safeguarding & Parents

Nepal Basketball UK Limited (Company No. 17391487) runs basketball training and player development sessions for children, young people and adults. This page explains how we safeguard everyone who trains with us, how we communicate with parents, and what we ask players and families to know before stepping on court.

1. Our safeguarding commitment

Our coaching team follows UK safeguarding best practice at every session. Coaches are safeguarding-trained, keep sessions organised and supervised from arrival to pick-up, and treat the welfare of every player as the first consideration — before results, selection or anything else. We review how we run sessions at the end of every term and adjust supervision, grouping and venue arrangements as the programme grows.

2. How we communicate with parents

  • Bookings are confirmed in writing by email, with the venue, arrival time and what to bring.
  • Every under-18 booking keeps a parent or guardian as the point of contact — we copy them into confirmations and updates.
  • Parents receive written progress feedback at the end of each term-time block.
  • Questions or concerns go to our team contact below and get a reply within one working day.
  • Parents are welcome to stay and watch any session — no appointment needed.

3. Clear age groups

Sessions are grouped so players always train with others of similar age and stage:

Group Ages What it looks like
Juniors 8–12 Fundamentals, ball-handling and small-sided games
Seniors 13–17 Academy-style training, shooting mechanics, game IQ
1-2-1 Private All ages Individual sessions, grouped by ability and goals

4. Injury disclaimer

Basketball is a physical sport and training carries an inherent risk of bumps, falls and injury. Warm-ups are supervised, contact is managed, and every session follows a plan scaled to the group — but injuries can still happen. Participants (and parents or guardians of juniors) must disclose relevant medical conditions at booking, arrive fit to train, and follow coach instructions. Participation is at the individual’s own risk aside from our duty of reasonable care, and players are encouraged to hold their own personal accident insurance.

5. Our coaching team

Sessions are delivered by experienced basketball coaches from club and school environments, all of whom are safeguarding-trained and used to working with mixed-age groups. We keep coach-to-player ratios deliberately small, and the same coach leads a group across a term-time block so players and parents know exactly who is on court with them.

6. Reporting a concern

If anything about a session, coach or player worries you, tell us straight away — every report is taken seriously and handled confidentially. Email support@nepalbasketball.services or call +44 7446 933309. For anything urgent that puts a young person at immediate risk, contact the police or local children’s services first.

7. Photos and video

We sometimes photograph sessions for our website and social channels. For under-18s we always ask parent or guardian consent in writing first, and we never publish a player’s full name alongside their photo. Say the word at any time and we will remove an image.
